Vladimir Semashko becomes Belarusian ambassador to Russia (Part 2)

MINSK. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko appointed former deputy prime minister Vladimir Semashko to the post of ambassador to Russia on Tuesday, the state-run news agency BelTA reported.

Semashko will concurrently serve as Belarusian representative to the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and Minsk's envoy for integration cooperation within the Russia-Belarus Union State, the Eurasian Economic Union, the CIS, and the CSTO.

Semashko held the post of deputy prime minister from 2014 to August 2018. Before that, he spent several years as first deputy prime minister, overseeing industry and the fuel and energy sector.
