Rocket launchers, artillery train battery countering at Crimean range

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Uragan and Grad rocket launchers of the Southern Military District's army corps stationed in Crimea have had a live-fire exercise at the Opuk range, the district press service said in a statement.

"The exercise was part of field training of rocket and artillery forces of the Southern Military District's army corps; the systems fired at targets imitating a mock-enemy's artillery at distances exceeding 30 kilometers, which a safe distance in case of a counterstrike," the press service said.

"Meanwhile, artillery hit solo and multiple targets and command posts of a mock enemy. They were tasked with hitting the targets as fast as they could, using the minimal number of munitions in single shots and massive firing. In addition, the troops trained counter-fire maneuvering by changing their positions," it said.

Orlan-10 unmanned aerial vehicles helped targeting and adjust fire of artillery batteries. Uragan and Grad rocket launchers delivered a precision guided strike on a mock enemy's positions, using the provided coordinates.
