MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian troops are continuing exercises in a number of operative sectors, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"The Russian Armed Forces are continuing a number of large-scale exercises that involve practically all military districts, fleets and the Airborne Forces," Konashenkov told reporters on Tuesday.
Forces from the Eastern Military District and the Airborne Forces, which are taking part in the Union Resolve exercise, are training for a defensive operation aimed to deter an aggression against the Union State together with the Belarusian Armed Forces, he said.
"Meanwhile, a series of naval drills involving surface ships, submarines and marine aviation are taking place in operative sectors of the world's oceans, and the seas adjoining Russian territory," Konashenkov said.
