Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports attack on its positions on Armenian border

BAKU. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has reported another Armenian attack on its positions on the border with Armenia.

"Starting at 6:45 p.m. on February 14, the Armenian forces stationed in the community of Zarkend, Basarkechar region for no apparent reason sporadically fired small arms at Azerbaijani army positions in the vicinity of the Barmagbina settlement of the Kalbajar region," the ministry said in a statement.

Additionally, at about 1:40 a.m. on February 15, Azerbaijani positions in the vicinity of the Aghbulag settlement of the Tovuz region came under attack from the Armenian positions near the Chinarli settlement of Armenia's Tovuzgala region, the ministry said.

The Azerbaijani forces gave "a proportionate response," it said.
