MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russia's potential recognition of the self-proclaimed Donbas republics will violate the Minsk Agreements and become a political disaster, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
"If the parliament passes what was proposed and it becomes a reality, then it will be a violation of the Minsk Agreements, it will mean that the process is interrupted, it will be a political disaster," Scholz said at a press conference following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, commenting on the State Duma's appeal to the president to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed Donbas republics.
