MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Tuesday inspected the Russian airbase in Syria's Hmeimim, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
"While visiting the airbase's command post, Gen. Sergei Shoigu listened to a report compiled by Lieu. Gen. Berdnikov, the commander of the Russian taskforce in Syria, on the current situation and actions being taken jointly with Syrian armed forces to fight the remnants of international terrorists and to provide humanitarian aid to the local population," the Defense Ministry said.
