Russian warships practice countering air raid during exercise in Baltic Sea

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - The Russian Baltic Fleet's anti-submarine ships have practiced firing artillery systems during an exercise in the Baltic Sea, the fleet's press service said.

"As part of a planned exercise, crews of the Aleksin and the Kabardino-Balkaria small anti-submarine ships of the Baltic Fleet's patrol formation practiced firing artillery systems upon aerial targets at a fleet's training range," it said.

"The ships also practiced repelling a simulated enemy's aerial attacks from various altitudes and directions by firing AK-176M and AK-630M artillery systems," it said.

The crews also laid training minefields, which were later defused by a harbor minesweeper.
