Lavrov tells Blinken of need to continue joint work, urges pragmatic dialogue

MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke with U.S. State Secretary Antony Blinken by telephone at the latter's request on Tuesday, the Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday evening.

"Our side stressed the need to continue the joint work, as was agreed between Presidents Putin and Biden in the February 12 telephone conversation, in the context of the proposals passed by the U.S. and NATO with regard to security guarantees," the statement said.

"Lavrov particularly noted the unacceptability of the aggressive rhetoric from Washington and its closest allies, and called for a pragmatic dialogue across the set of issues raised by Russia with emphasis on the principle of indivisible security."

The pair also discussed the schedule of future exchanges at various levels, the ministry said.
