MOSCOW. Feb 15 (Interfax) - NATO's enlargement is not planned and is not being discussed, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said.
"The enlargement is not planned, it is not being discussed, it is not on the agenda. Everybody knows this," the chancellor said at a press conference following talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
He said he is confident that the leaders of Germany and Russia would not have to deal with this matter during their terms in office.
"I don't know how long the president will stay in office, I think, it could be long, perhaps, but not forever," Scholz said.
Russia and Germany are facing the objective of achieving political mutual understanding based on the principles of their policies, he said.
