KYIV. Feb 16 (Interfax) - A Belarusian attache will observe a Ukrainian army exercise in Rivne on Wednesday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said.
"I had a very important conversation with my Belarusian colleague Viktor Khrenin two days ago [...] Minister Khrenin assured me that no threat would ever come to Ukraine from the Belarusian territory. We instantly took a number of confidence building steps. Our defense attache watched an exercise in Belarus yesterday. Today we will welcome the Belarusian attache to the exercise in Rivne," Reznikov said at the televised Unity Marathon on Wednesday.
Ukraine "has very warm feelings for the Belarusian people. We are interested in maintaining neighborly relations," he said.
Reznikov had a phone call with Khrenin on February 14.
