ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Southern Military District units have trained compliance with train embarkation norms before returning to base from an exercise, the district press service said on Wednesday.
"Southern Military District units trained compliance with the norms of loading military hardware on flatcars at rail stations in Crimea. Two trains were prepared for departure at each of the designated rail stations on the Crimean Peninsula within a day. Currently, the first trains carrying military hardware of Southern Military District units have left the Republic of Crimea," the press service said.
Each train of 30 flatcars capable of carrying two pieces of military hardware was swiftly prepared for departure, the press service said. The loading was assessed by the compliance with combat training standards, including the loading period and safety requirements, it said.
Requirements for loading armored hardware are different from those in effect for military trucks. Therefore, various units of the Southern Military District spent from five to nine hours on loading the vehicles.
The hardware will be serviced and prepared for the next training stage upon arrival at military units.
