Ukrainian officials make contradictory statements on Kyiv visits of Macron, Scholz - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has a mixed impression of Kyiv's readiness to fulfill the Minsk Agreements from the visits of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz to Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The opinion is quite contradictory," Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.

The thing is that "members of the Ukrainian administration make contradictory statements," he said.

"On one hand, Kyiv declares its commitment to the Minsk Agreements, while, on the other hand, it says that the implementation of the Minsk Agreements would lead to the collapse of Ukraine and that it won't fulfill the Minsk Agreements on the alleged Russian terms," Peskov said.

"So, unfortunately, the conclusions are highly contradictory," he said.

In fact, "Ukraine has been dodging the fulfillment of the Minsk Package of Measures one way or another for years," Peskov said.
