MINSK. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Belarus is set to strengthen military cooperation with Russia and to develop the military-technical partnership in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), Belarusian Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei said.
"We should be prepared to deter a possible foreign aggression, no matter where it comes from. We will continue to strengthen military cooperation with Russia," Makei said at a press conference in Minsk on Wednesday.
"We need to keep the gunpowder dry, considering the irrational policy of NATO and some other Western partners," he said.
Belarus will be unable to counter a possible Western aggression on its own, Makei said. "We see the need for close military and military-technical cooperation in the Union State and the CSTO," he said.
