MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Units of the Russian Western Military District's tank army are returning to their home bases upon completion of a military exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
The units' hardware has been loaded onto trains, which will have to cover some 1,000 kilometers en route to the bases, the Defense Ministry said.
"Personnel of the units of the Western Military District's tank army have finished loading their tanks and tracked armored hardware onto flatbed railcars and have embarked on a 1,000-kilometer march using various means of transportation back to their permanent bases upon completion of their routine drills," it said.
The ministry did not name the region where the aforementioned military exercise was conducted.
The Defense Ministry has also published video footage that shows a tank column moving on snow-covered terrain and armored hardware being loaded onto trains.
