ISS orbit to be adjusted on Feb 26 - Roscosmos

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - The International Space Station (ISS)'s orbit will be adjusted on February 26 to prepare for the arrival of the Soyuz MS-21 piloted spaceship, Roscosmos said on Wednesday.

"The next adjustment of the International Space Station orbit is scheduled for February 26, 2022," Roscosmos said.

Tentative information from the ballistic and navigation support service of the TsNIIMash mission control center suggests that engines of the Progress MC-18 resupply ship, latched on to the Zvezda module of the ISS' Russian segment, will be started at 4:37 a.m. The orbit will grow by 1.1 kilometers to 417.94 km.

According to Roscosmos, the orbit adjustment aims to create proper ballistic conditions for the launch of the Soyuz MS-21 piloted spaceship on March 18 and the landing of the Soyuz MS-19 craft on March 30.

It was reported earlier that the Soyuz MS-21 spaceship crewed by Oleg Artemyev, Denis Matveyev and Sergei Korsakov would dock with the Prichal module on March 18, 2022.
