Russian S-400 air defense systems involved in exercise in Belarus - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - Crews of Russian S-400 and Belarusian S-300 air defense missile systems practiced repelling an air raid during the Union Resolve 2022 joint military exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"As part of the Union Resolve 2022 joint exercise, air defense units of the Eastern Military District and the Belarusian Armed Forces repelled a simulated enemy's air strike," the ministry said.

Radar troops detected aerial targets at a maximum possible distance, it said.

"The information on the detected targets was automatically communicated to the air defense command center, where it was distributed between Belarusian S-300 and the Eastern Military District's S-400 air defense missile battalions. Crews of the air defense systems locked in, tracked, and destroyed the aerial targets by carrying out electronic missile launches," it said.

The enemy air raid was imitated by fighter and attack aircraft involved in the exercise, it said.
