Moscow demands apology from British foreign secretary for what she said about Russia's imminent invasion of Ukraine (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 16 (Interfax) - British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss should apologize for her statements about Russia's alleged preparations for an invasion of Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

"The British foreign secretary should apologize for spreading lies, and she owes an apology to the people of Russia, to the people of Ukraine and to the people of Britain," Zakharova said at a press briefing in Moscow on Wednesday.

The British foreign secretary should also apologize "to those media who thought her statements were true," Zakharova said. "Of course, there is no point in substantively discussing Elizabeth Truss' statements simply because they are absurd," the diplomat said. "There is not even a hint of logic there," she added.

The British foreign secretary "remains true to herself, as she uses the favored tactics of the British planting anti-Russian fakes in the information space, which are made in the style of highly likely," Zakharova said.
