KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine has officially applied to the United Nations Security Council to discuss the Russian State Duma resolution on recognizing the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR) and proposed addressing the matter at a session dealing with the implementation of the Minsk Agreements on February 17, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
"We requested UNSC to consider the issue at the February 17th meeting on Minsk Agreements," Kuleba wrote on Twitter on Wednesday evening.
The State Duma on Tuesday passed a resolution on immediately submitting an appeal to the president to recognize the DPR's and LPR's independence.
