MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - A bill that specifies the number of civilian weapons Russian citizens are allowed to possess passed the third, final reading in the State Duma on Thursday.
The bill applies to civilian weapons of certain categories, except for collectibles, Russian citizens can have in their possession.
From now on, Russian citizens may own up to five smooth-bore long-barreled weapons, up to ten smooth-bore long-barreled hunting guns or long-barreled hunting rifles, up to five sport rifles, up to five propulsive hunting guns, and up to two low-power firearms.
The bill says that only legal entities with a proper license can repair civilian and service-issued weapons and replace their parts. The same rule applies to servicing civilian weapons.
Russian citizens are not allowed to collect weapons they are not entitled to possess.
The bill specifies terms of acquiring a license to possess long-barreled hunting rifles.
The bill will take effect 180 days after its official publishing.
