MINSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The accomplishment of training missions is continuing during the Union Resolve 2022 exercise of Russia and Belarus, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"Units of a Belarusian mechanized infantry brigade are training defeat of a mock enemy that broke into their positions at the Gorzhsky range. Meanwhile, units of the Russian Airborne Forces are on an airdrop mission aimed at defeating a mock illegal armed unit at the Brestsky range," the ministry said.
Units of a Belarusian mechanized infantry brigade and Russian marines are training defensive and offensive operations on flexible defense lines and are protecting troops from airstrikes in the Baranovichi area, it said.
Belarusian special ops forces are protecting sites, and blocking and defeating sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a mock enemy and illegal armed groups in the Gomel area.
Russian air defense missile units are protecting troops in the course of air defense duty in the Luninets area.
Special ops forces of Belarus and Russia are holding a tactical drill, which includes ambush operations and nighttime firing, in the Maryina Gorka area.
"Motorized infantry units and Russian Airborne Forces servicemen are deploying to concentration areas, preparing for an offensive, and suppressing sabotage and reconnaissance groups of a mock enemy and illegal armed units in the Rechytsa area," the ministry said.
Other training assignments are being fulfilled in the Osipovichi, Mozyr, Polessky and Pinsk areas, it said.
