LUHANSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The attacks mounted by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Donbas on Thursday were the most intense over the past few months, Rodion Miroshnik, representative of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) to the political working group of the Trilateral Contact Group, said.
"This gunfire is targeting more than ten populated localities along the entire line of contact," Miroshnik said on Telegram on Thursday.
"This large-scale provocation by Ukraine's armed formations simply crushes Ukraine's obligations assumed under the measures to strengthen the ceasefire, which were signed in July 2020. Moreover, they ruin Ukraine's statements on compliance with the ceasefire," he said.
Miroshnik told Interfax earlier on Thursday that the LPR militia was firing back at the Ukrainian Armed Forces' position, from which LPR territory has been targeted.
"The militia is striking the enemy's fire positions," he said.
