Not Russia that should be asked whether escalation around Ukraine ends on Feb 20 - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russia is not the one to be asked whether the escalation around Ukraine will end on February 20, since Moscow is not behind the escalation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"The question about February 20 should not be addressed to me. Our exercises will end on February 20, as we have announced. I do not know whether the escalation ends on February 20 because we are not the ones fanning the tensions, we are not doing it," Lavrov said at a press conference on Thursday in response to a question whether the escalation around Ukraine might end with the completion of the Russian-Belarusian exercise.
