MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Moscow will send a reply to the United States regarding the security guarantee proposals as early as today and will make its reply public, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We are finalizing our analysis of the U.S. letter. Hopefully, you will learn how the situation will develop in the near future. At least, we will send the letter to the U.S. side today," Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Italian Foreign Minister Luigi di Maio.
"As I have said before, we will definitely make this letter public," Lavrov said.
"We believe this is absolutely necessary so that interested civil society members in our countries realize what is going on and what stance is pursued by each side. If we keep this secret, as our colleagues in Washington and Brussels prefer, public opinion will be overwhelmed by the lies, the outright propaganda that has filled the information space," he said.
