KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Ukrainian authorities have said the towns of Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, the village of Taramchuk, Stepne and Sladke in the Donetsk region have been affected by enemy shelling near the line of contact between the opposing sides.

"It is an unquiet day on different parts of the front, [...] artillery shelling, which resulted in injuries among the military and civilians, as well as damage to infrastructure. In particular, enemy shells in the Donetsk region hit Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, the village of Taramchuk, Stepne and Sladke today," Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the regional military and civilian authorities, said on Facebook on Thursday afternoon.

In Maryinka, debris reached School No. 2, where children took shelter in the vault, and parents are now taking them home if possible, he said.

"Besides, a 65-year-old female resident of Maryinka, who was at a bus stop at the time of the shelling, suffered a shrapnel wound. The woman was taken to the hospital, where medics provided her with the necessary assistance," the head of the regional military and civilian administration said.

The shelling disrupted the electricity supply to Krasnohorivka, as, according to tentative information, the cable was broken, Kyrylenko said. The repair team will start restoration as soon as it is safe to do so.

The electricity supply was also cut in the villages of Taramchuk, Stepne, and Sladke, he said.

There is no information about casualties among the residents of these populated localities.
