MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The number of cybercrimes is growing each year, causing misery to Russian companies and pensioners, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The number of cybercrimes in this sphere is growing annually. As a result of cyber-fraudsters' actions, domestic companies are incurring losses and, what causes a particular acuteness, a public reaction, with the losses of livelihoods and savings that our citizens are facing in ever increasing numbers. Pensioners, large families, people with restricted abilities due to ill health fall victim to this crime - there is nothing sacred for the criminals. Only money to rip [people] off," Putin told senior interior officials on Thursday.
Also, the Interior Ministry should most seriously improve the way it interacts with financial organizations, network operators and other entities working in the digital space and telecommunications industry, the president.
