LUHANSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - A senior militiaman in the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has accused Ukraine of making false accusations about attacks on Ukrainian territory which allegedly damaged civilian infrastructure.
"To justify its criminal activities, the Ukrainian enemy is making up claims and publishing fabricated material about the destruction of civilian infrastructure, ostensibly as a result of militia gunfire," Yan Leshchenko told journalists on Thursday.
"On the pictures published by Ukrainian propagandists, one can observe serious damage to the walls, yet the windows of the building are intact. Anyone who has seen buildings damaged by real shelling even once would say the photos are fabricated," Leshchenko said.
Earlier on Thursday the chief executive of the Ukrainian rail operator Ukrzaliznytsia, Oleksandr Kamyshyn , had accused LPR militia of attacking Kondrashevska-Nova train station in the Luhansk region. "Not only had the station, but also the locomotive depot and the kindergarten come under shelling. The workers at the station and at the depot were not injured. One locomotive was damaged but not disabled. Depot buildings were damaged," Kamyshyn wrote on his Telegram channel.
