KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas is initiating an urgent extraordinary TCG meeting at the level of heads of delegations and working subgroups due to the escalation at the line of contact with the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR).
"The Ukrainian delegation asked the OSCE representative in the TCG to urgently convene extraordinary consultations of the working group on security issues, as well as a TCG extraordinary meeting," the Ukrainian delegation said on Facebook.
Since Thursday morning, there have been "numerous violations of the ceasefire at the line of contact." As a result of "more than 40 shells fired with the use of barrel artillery, mortars, and tanks, a kindergarten building was damaged near Stanytsia Luhanska, and shells hit the yard of the Vrubovsky lyceum," the statement said
The Ukrainian delegation proposed involving representatives of the Normandy Four countries in all the mechanisms for monitoring and verifying compliance with the ceasefire.
