Ten Su-24 bombers redeploy from Crimea to other Russian regions during drills (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russian Sukhoi Su-24 bomber aircraft stationed in Crimea have redeployed to reserve airfields in other Russian regions as part of a military exercise, Russian Black Sea Fleet spokesman Alexei Rulyov said.

"During the exercise, ten Su-24 planes have redeployed from airfields in Crimea to reserve airfields located in other regions of the Russian Federation," he said.

The exercise, which focused on protecting forces from a mock enemy strike, was conducted during the drills of the Black Sea Fleet's ships, air force and coast guard units supervised by the fleet's commander Adm. Igor Osipov, he said.

"The flight crews, demonstrating an unconventional approach to the task of diverting forces from a mock enemy strike, redeployed to reserve airfields within a period of time that was significantly shorter than by existing standards," Rulyov said.
