Trucks carrying Russian Western Military District units returning to base after drills

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Another convoy of vehicles carrying personnel from the Russian Western Military District is heading back to home base upon completion of a military exercise, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"One more convoy of military hardware has embarked on the road back home from the training range, which hosted a routine exercise. The convoy includes some 30 trucks carrying personnel, specialized equipment and military property," the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

It did not name the location of the aforementioned training range.

"Outposts of the road control service have been set up along the routes of such hardware convoys, which are being escorted by military traffic police units," the ministry said.

Upon arrival at its home base, the military hardware will undergo maintenance and will be prepared for further routine exercises as part of the winter combat training plan," it said.

The Defense Ministry said earlier that the Russian Armed Forces are conducting large-scale exercises, which involve almost all military districts, fleets and the Airborne Force.
