Ukrainian defense minister says enemy uses weapons prohibited by Minsk Agreements in Donbas (Part 2)

KYIV. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements were used in 43 out of the 60 attacks on Ukrainian territory on Thursday, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday.

In his words, the enemy fired tube artillery, mortars of various calibers, grenade launchers, tank weapons and anti-tank missile systems banned by the Minsk Agreements.

The attacks began at about 5 a.m. on Thursday and continued intermittently until 2 p.m., Reznikov said. "There was another outbreak after 10 p.m.," he added.

"They [the attacks] were observed along the entire contact line, from Stanytsia Luhanska to Shyrokyne," Reznikov said.

The hostile fire was observed in the vicinity of 30 Ukrainian populated localities, he said.

"I have no doubt that a reason why the massive provocation was staged yesterday was the meeting of the UN Security Council dedicated to the Minsk Agreements," Reznikov said.
