Total of 64% of Ukrainians confident Ukraine can repel Russian attack should it occur - poll

KYIV. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Nineteen percent of Ukrainian citizens interviewed in a recent public opinion survey assess the probability of a Russian all-out military invasion of Ukraine as high, 33% as moderate, 20% as low, while 25% of respondents believe that there is no threat at all, according to the findings of a poll conducted by the Rating Sociological Group on February 16-17, 2022.

The number of Ukrainians who assess the threat of a Russian attack as high has declined from 28% to 19% over the past few days.

At the same time, the majority (64%) of respondents are confident that Ukraine will be able to repel such an invasion should Russia choose to attack, while one-third of those polled said they do not have this confidence.

The number of Ukrainians who believe that Ukraine will be able to repel a Russian invasion should it occur has grown from 58% to 64% in the past few days, Rating said.

The poll was conducted via the Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews method in all Kyiv-controlled regions and involved 1,722 people aged 18 and above.
