Putin, Russian Security Council permanent members discuss Ukraine situation, note growing tensions largely provoked from abroad - Peskov

MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin met with Russian Security Council permanent members on Friday to discuss the growing tensions in Ukraine that are being provoked from abroad and the reply of Moscow to the Western response to security guarantee proposals, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"Of course, they have discussed the Ukraine situation and put emphasis on the growing tensions, which, by the way, are largely being provoked from abroad," Peskov said at a press briefing on Friday.

"Views were exchanged on security guarantees for Russia in the context of the document presented to our Western opponents yesterday," he said.
