KYIV. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Acts of sabotage were committed last night against Vodafone communication lines in Lysychansk in the Luhansk region and Sloviansk and Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, and a substantial part of the Luhansk region and northern parts of the Donetsk region had no access to service of one of the three mobile telecom operators for a few hours, advisor to the Ukrainian interior minister Anton Herashchenko said.
"People were unable to call an ambulance or the police and to speak with their families and relatives. Service was restored by the morning thanks to the rapid response of repairmen," Herashchenko said on Telegram on Friday.
Ukraine should be prepared for similar acts of telecom sabotage, he said.
"We should know that telecom sabotage will continue, both to Vodafone lines and the lines of other telecom operators," Herashchenko said.
Police have opened criminal cases on counts of interfering with the mobile telecom operator's operations, and an investigation has begun, he said.
