MINSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The Union Resolve 2022 Russian-Belarusian joint military exercise is currently continuing at three ranges and in three areas in Belarus, the press service for the Belarusian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
At the Gozhsky range, mechanized units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are simulating counterattacks and holding a live-fire exercise. The participants are also taking measures to protect personnel from a mock enemy airstrike.
At the Brestsky range, Belarusian special operations forces are simulating a landing operation and the neutralization of an illegal armed formation, while Belarusian mechanized units and Russian marines are jointly acting at defensive positions during maneuvers underway at the Obuz-Lesnovsky range.
Meanwhile, in the Gomel area, Belarusian special operations forces are simulating measures to counter mock enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups and illegal armed units.
At the maneuvers in the Luninets area, missile units of the Russian Armed Forces are practicing air defense of other forces and simulating air defense missions. Meanwhile, attack planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces are backing personnel participating in drills underway at the Ruzhansky aviation training range and at the Obuz-Lesnovsky range.
In the Maryina Gorka area, Russian special operations forces are simulating reconnaissance and search operations in designated districts.
Maneuvers as part of the military exercise are also continuing in the Osipovichi, Polessky, Mozyr, Rechitsa, and Pinsk areas in Belarus.
