MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he pays no attention to any hoaxes about an alleged Russian invasion of Ukraine being prepared, saying: "This is more trouble than it's worth."
Journalists asked Putin earlier on Friday about how he "felt about Russia's invasion of Ukraine" expected on February 16, as such information had been reported in advance by many Western sources. "I honestly just didn't pay attention to it. There are plenty of hoaxes. Constantly reacting to them is more trouble than it's worth. We do whatever we see fit and will do so further down the road. Of course, we watch what is going on in the world and around us. But we have clear and comprehensible guidelines that correspond with the national interests of the people of Russia and the Russian state," Putin said.
