LPR police put on high alert

LUHANSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The interior ministry of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has put its forces on high alert due to the escalation in Donbas, the ministry told journalists on Friday.

"In further support of the LPR leader announcing the imposition of a state of emergency in the Republic, the LPR Interior Ministry is switching to a reinforced service mode," the statement said.

The police stepped up patrol on streets in towns and districts, set up additional roadblocks and increased control over compliance with the curfew, it said.
