LUHANSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - The People's Militia of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has denied Ukraine's allegations of its forces attacking a humanitarian convoy of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, when it was undergoing an inspection at the Luhansk-Shchastia checkpoint in Donbas, which is due to open soon.
"I have the responsibility to tell you that the People' Militia of the LPR has nothing to do with this incident. This is another provocation by the Ukrainian authorities, which is aimed at derailing the agreements and escalating the conflict," LPR People's Militia spokesman Ivan Filiponenko said on Friday.
The Ukrainian military said earlier in the day that Kyiv's adversary fired on the checkpoint at the separation line in Donbas, where a humanitarian convoy of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees was being inspected at the time.
