MOSCOW. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Rostov Region Governor Vasily Golubev has turned to Russian President Vladimir Putin, requesting him to order emergency aid from the federal center to the region over an unexpected influx of refugees, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Putin spoke on the phone with Acting Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Chupriyan and asked him to urgently fly to the Rostov region and organize work on the ground to create conditions there for accommodating refugees and providing them with hot meals and everything necessary, including medical aid," Peskov said.
"The president of Russia also instructed the Russian government to swiftly facilitate a payment of 10,000 rubles to each refugee arriving in the Rostov region from Donbas," he said.
