DONETSK. Feb 18 (Interfax) - Long lines have formed at gas stations in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) after an evacuation was announced by DPR authorities on Friday, according to eyewitnesses.
Lines with hundreds of cars were seen near gas stations in Donetsk. There have been no reports of fuel shortages as of yet.
There were also reports about disruptions in mobile phone communications in Donetsk on Friday. Mobile communication problems have been observed in both downtown and on the outskirts since this morning. Orphans are being evacuated from a boarding school on the outskirts of Donetsk right now. The children will be first to be taken to Russia.
DPR head Denis Pushilin earlier announced the launch of a largescale evacuation to take DPR residents to Russia amid the growing tension in the region.
