Russian air defenses down drone near thermal power plant in Sevastopol - governor

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Russian air defense systems shot down a Ukrainian drone near the Balaklava thermal power plant in Sevastopol on Friday morning, the city's Governor Mikhail Razvozhayev said.

"Air defense forces downed a drone near the Balaklava thermal power plant this morning," Razvozhayev said on Telegram.

The facility was not damaged in the incident and is operating as usual, he said.

Air defense engagements have been reported in Crimea and Sevastopol since August. They have mostly been countering small drones.

The high (yellow) level of terrorist threat and the state of medium-level response are in effect in Crimea and Sevastopol.
