MINSK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The State Security Committee (KGB) of Belarus is conducting an exercise with the use of military hardware near the border with Ukraine on Friday to verify government agencies' readiness to respond to terrorist attacks, the Mayak state-owned regional media outlet said.
"An exercise to check government agencies' readiness to respond and interact in the event of terrorist attacks will take place in the Buda-Koshelevo district [Gomel region of Belarus] on February 17," the media outlet said.
"The scenario of the exercise envisages the use of military hardware and possible vehicle traffic restrictions," it said.
It involves personnel of the KGB, the Interior Ministry, the State Border Committee, the Defense Ministry, the Emergency Situations Ministry, and other government agencies of Belarus.
