VLADIVOSTOK. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate of the Russian Pacific Fleet has destroyed a mock enemy's ship during an exercise in the Sea of Japan, the fleet press service said on Friday.
"Under the exercise scenario, the military sailors were informed that the trespassing ship headed to a facility of the Pacific Fleet's main base. The ship's radio-technical systems detected the mock enemy, and the frigate moved towards its location at full speed," the press service said.
Missile and artillery units fired AK-630M and AU AK-190 artillery systems at the mock enemy and destroyed it in a series of direct hits.
The command assessed the Marshal Shaposhnikov crew's performance as excellent.
The Aldar Tsydenzhapov corvette of the Pacific Fleet impersonated the mock enemy.
The frigate also had signals, bottleneck passage, damage control and air defense drills.
