MOSCOW. Feb 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have continued offensive operations in the Donetsk sector over the past day, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.
"Up to 200 Ukrainian troops were killed and two armored fighting vehicles, two other vehicles, two D-30 howitzers, and one D-20 howitzer [of the Ukrainian army] were destroyed in the Donetsk sector in the past day during offensive operations and artillery fire of the southern group of forces," Konashenkov said.
An ammunition depot of the 36th marine brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was destroyed near Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), he said.
"In the Kupyansk sector, the active efforts of units, artillery fire and strikes delivered by assault and army aircraft of the western group of forces dealt a blow to the adversary's forces and hardware near Gryanikovka, Liman Pervy and Berestovoye in the Kharkov region and Novosyolovskoye in the Lugansk People's Republic [LPR]," Konashenkov said.
In the Krasny Liman sector, strikes were delivered on Ukrainian troops near Terny in the DPR and Stelmakhovka, Nevskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova in the LPR, he said.
