Belarus ready to make Russian attack planes - Lukashenko at meeting with Putin

NOVO-OGARYOVO. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Belarus is ready to make Russian attack planes, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"Some time ago, you raised the question of cooperation in aircraft construction in the Eurasian Economic Union. I should tell you that Belarus has been making up to a thousand components for MC-21 and Superjet 100 planes. There used to be repair plants, but now they also make component parts. The government has told me we are ready to start manufacturing MiG-25 planes [he probably meant the Sukhoi Su-25 attack plane], I think. The one that has proven its value in Ukraine. The attack plane, a workhorse. We are even ready to make it in Belarus with a little support from Russia," Lukashenko said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday.
