Aliyev, Michel in Munich discuss Baku-Yerevan normalization

BAKU. Feb 17 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev met with European Council President Charles Michel in Munich on Friday to discuss Southern Caucasus security, the former's website stated.

"The meeting focused on the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, talks over a peace treaty and the Brussels peace process," the statement said.

Aliyev stressed his country's support for the Brussels peace process.

For his part, Michel said the European Union will continue efforts to normalize Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, hold negotiations over a peace treaty and ensure regional stability and security.

"During the conversation the sides also exchanged their opinions about the operation of the European Union mission in Armenia," the statement said.
