BAKU. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The international geopolitical situation has fully changed since the start of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, but had no direct impact on Azerbaijan, its President Ilham Aliyev said.
"I would say the situation had no direct effect on us. The general geopolitical situation has changed completely," Aliyev told a panel discussion on South Caucasus security as part of the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.
This created certain advantages for Azerbaijan's communications projects, he said.
"For years Azerbaijan has been investing in the creation of modern transport, logistics and infrastructure. And now redirected freight from Central Asia through Azerbaijan to Europe is creating further opportunities," Aliyev said.
