Belarusian troops perform 180km forced march during combat preparedness check

MINSK. Feb 19 (Interfax) - A mechanized brigade unit of the Belarusian Armed Forces has performed a 180-kilometer forced march during a combat preparedness check, the press service for the Belarusian Armed Forces said on Sunday.

"As part of a combat preparedness check of the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade, a unit of the formation performed a march of about 180 kilometers," the press service said.

The ministry said on February 10 that the 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade "was being assessed for preparedness to accomplish missions" as part of the Belarusian Armed Forces' combat preparedness check conducted on the orders from the Belarusian defense minister.

The 19th Separate Mechanized Brigade is stationed in the Vitebsk region of Belarus. It is a successor to the 19th Guards Tank Division of the former Soviet Union, which was transformed into the 19th Guards Military Hardware Depot after its withdrawal from Hungary.
