YEKATERINBURG. Feb 20 (Interfax) - Servicemen of Russia's 201st military base in Tajikistan have practiced using 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers at the Lyaur highland range, the press service for the Russian Central Military District said on Monday.
"Divers have mastered their skills of maneuvering in high-speed sections, traveling within a convoy at top speed, and taking turns and U-turns of various complexity to protect the artillery batteries from a mock enemy's fire," the press service said.
Stun grenades, smoke charges and training mines simulated combat environment, it said.
The 201st military base in Tajikistan is Russia's largest military facility abroad. The base is located in the cities of Dushanbe and Bokhtar and consists of motorized infantry, tank, artillery, reconnaissance, air defense, radiation, chemical and biological protection, and signals units.
