Russian Emergency Ministry deploys 24/7 firefighting mission at Zaporozhye NPP

MOSCOW. Feb 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry is deploying a 24/7 presence of firefighters at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), the ministry's press service said on Monday.

"A round-the-clock fire safety mission of [ministry] personnel has been organized at the Zaporozhye NPP," the press service quoted Russian Emergency Situations Minister Alexander Kurenkov as saying.

Twenty-seven firefighting units are currently in charge of fire safety in the liberated parts of the Zaporozhye region. Firefighting and rescue personnel are also on duty in the city of Energodar and at the Zaporozhye NPP.
