NATO's demand to resume inspections at Russian nuclear sites is theater of absurd - Putin

MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has described NATO's demand to resume inspections at Russian nuclear sites as absurd.

"The North Atlantic Alliance made a statement in early February of this year to actually demand that Russia, as they put it, resume the fulfillment of the New START treaty, including the authorization of inspections at our nuclear sites. I do not even know what to say. This is some kind of theater of the absurd," Putin said in his address to the Federal Assembly on Tuesday.
